RYŪRYŪKYO SHINSAI  (1764-1820)

Two women and a child in a room in front of the tokonoma during the
New Year celebrations. The boy on his mother’s shoulders offers a bamboo
branch (one of the three auspicious plants for the New Year) to the woman
crouching on the ground.
