52. GAKUTEI (1786-1868). Chōryō and Kōseikō. (Sold)

YASHIMA GAKUTEI  (1786-1868)

The legendary scene of the Chinese nobleman Chōryō handing a
shoe to an old man near the Yishui Bridge. The old man turn out to
be Kōseikō a mythical character who, after testing Chōryō’s patience
and perseverance, gave him the scroll of The Art of War of Taigong,
an important ancient manuscript that expressed the essence of
traditional Chinese military principles.
