Box in the style of Kōrin
Rectangular box with rounded corners decorated on a matt gold ground with a large mother-of-pearl flower and leaves made of lead. Interior of the box in nashiji. The lid has an inscription in gold lacquer and the date seventh month Taishō 11 (1922).
The decorative motif and the lacquer technique recall the style of Ogata Kōrin (1658-1716) who had a revival in painting and lacquer art during the Meiji and Taishō periods.
