Tray

Wood tray finely lacquered with the togidashi technique on a roironuri ground (black lacquer) with a stylised floral motif. The edge lined in metal.

Togidashi consists of drawing the decorative motif with coloured and gold lacquer, when it is dry it is covered with black lacquer which is then sanded to reveal the underlying design.
