A young man, dressed with the Heian court costume, playing the ball play (kemari). The subject is often associated with Chapter 34 of Genji Monogatari, Wakanajō.

Conditions:
Very good impression, the grey slightly off register in the lower part. Colours slightly faded. Some light creased and marks all around from previous mounting as a scrool. In general very good conditions for this kind of early print. A very large untrimmed sheet.
